Meet the Board

President
Pauline Broadhurst

Pauline graduated from Pets Beautiful School of Styling in June 2016 after being in corporate management for over 30 years.  Before graduating, Pauline was a volunteer therapy dog handler and evaluator with Therapeutic Paws and a Team Lead for her local area.  She started her own business ‘Everything Dogs Halton’ just after graduating and has never looked back. 

After working as the ODGA Secretary for the last four years, she has enjoyed the further education opportunities and friendship that the ODGA has offered for Ontario groomers.  Pauline accepted the President’s role this April and is looking forward to working with the new Board.   She is excited for the future events and growth of the Association.

Pauline lives in Halton Hills with her husband, 2 boys and her dog Storm & is proud that her daughter in the UK has followed in her footsteps and is a groomer too. 

Vice President
Becky Misener

Becky is the proud owner of Grooming with Finesse, in Uptown Waterloo. She has hosted many grooming events throughout the years in conjunction with The Canadian Pet Expo, as well as creator of LETS Groom Show. 

Becky is a Certified Master Groomer with both Canadian Professional Pet Stylist Association (CPPS) and International Professional Groomers Association (IPG). A previous junior certified with CPPS, past Board member of Ontario Dog Groomers Association (2008-2012) and Past President of ODGA 2012-2016. She has also dabbled and placed in several grooming competitions in both Canada and the USA.  

Becky is passionate about continuing education and creating a community for professional groomers. She is excited once again, to join the ODGA to assist with helping fellow groomers to pursue their individual goals.

Secretary
Veronica Negrin

Veronica’s love for dogs and cats had her pursue a career in the Veterinary field. She immigrated to Canada from Mexico with her family in 2000 and found out that the Canadian Pet Industry offered a great range of opportunities, bringing her into the Pet Grooming area.

She attended Bryson Grooming Academy in 2001 and is now an International Certified Groomer from IPG and an International Certified Feline Master Groomer from NCGI. Additionally, she is a Canadian Canine Master Stylist with CPPS.

Veronica owns Pinetree Pet Resort, a beautiful facility in Guelph that offers pet boarding, pet grooming, and an all-fenced dog park. On the property there is a pet cemetery, where she offers pet’s afterlife care.

Veronica has been an active member of the ODGA, noting that it is a great association that furthers groomers fellowship and continuing education. She has served as Secretary (2006-2007); and since 2017 served as Membership Coordinator. As Secretary, she is looking forward to helping the Association become stronger.

Treasurer
Sherry Klein

Sherry is a certified master groomer with over 38 years in the professional dog grooming industry.  Originally from Calgary she moved to Toronto in 1987.  Sherry worked her way up and became Manager and Head Instructor in positions before opening her own shop in 1991.  In The Dog House grooming had two locations for over 15 years,now semi retired, she works out of her original location where she's been for the twenty eight years.

Sherry served on the ODGA board from 1993-1998 as Secretary and President respectively and was awarded a lifetime membership in 1999.Asked to serve 2016 for the city of Markham as an adviser to the animal care committee which she is currently still doing along with serving as the current ODGA Treasurer.  She lives at home with her husband of 31 years Robert, has two sons and a staffie named Dexter.

Director
Carole Saunders


Carole was a licensed stylist for a few years and decided to mix her career with her passion and become a groomer. That was 24 years ago. she opened her own salon within her first year.  A few years ago she moved her salon and opened a second location.

Behaviour and training have always been Carole’s passion, so she studied and continued to further her education in behaviour, ethology and operant conditioning behaviour Analysis.

16 years ago she started working with people to help their dogs, in and out of the salon. Carole also taught an intro to grooming at her local college for 11 years,  she then retired to pursue other interests opened a training centre in Kingston Ontario.

As a past and current Director for the ODGA Carole hopes to continue to represent the needs and wishes of the eastern members, helping them have a better network and boost continuing education.

Director
Sheila Benoit


Sheila has been grooming professionally since 2014 after graduating the Pet Grooming Studio Academy. Prior to that she had been grooming Great Pyrenees and Belgian Shepherd Dogs for Show since 1990/2.  Sheila has also dabbled in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Herding, Carting, Ring Sport and Earthdog (with Dachshunds). 

Completing the CPPS certifications to Master level has been a goal that she has had since school and she has successfully completed all written tests and completed practicals for CCS1 Bather Technician and CCS1 Intermediate Stylist Technician. 

Sheila is committed to humane safe grooming practices and is a firm believer in continued education, she has taken many courses over the last 30 years for her own interest and knowledge including, behaviour, training, and structure. 

Sheila is looking forward to sharing ideas with the ODGA and continuing to support the Association.

Director
Deanna Vout

Deanna is a Certified Master Groomer with over 23 years experience grooming. 

Deanna was fortunate to be introduced to the world of dog shows early on in her grooming career and has enjoyed handling many different breeds. Over the course of Deanna's career, she has groomed out of several grooming shops, before opening her own location in Pickering in 2020. Despite Covid lockdowns, it has been a success! 

If you can't find Deanna at a grooming competition, or dog show, she is probably lure-coursing with her Azawakh, Siri, or hiking in the woods.
